Happy Earth Day {2012}

crappy weather on Earth Day + mama's hair-brained picnic idea = brrrr, a really fast picnic!

at least we got to laugh!

Maxine, how on earth are you one already?

...No really, this has been the fastest year of my life.

Max, I cannot imagine our family without you.  You have brought such spunk to this house.  We knew very early on that you were not going to tread lightly through your life.  I SO love this about you.  From what we can tell now, you are going to be the girl/woman that I have always admired and not had the guts to be!  You are strong willed! confident! sassy! incredibly-smart! gorgeous!  You are so much fun and make us laugh a lot!

You are such a daddy's girl these days.  You walk to him and pull at his legs non-stop.  (Don't be fooled....he LOVES it!)  He picks you up, you point to different things in the house, and he takes you there.  You've got him!

You still adore your brother and the dogs.  I love watching you look at Cole with stars in your eyes.  He loves to play with you and is beginning to give you a hard time.  He sees the toy that you are going for and rushes to it so he can have all of your attention!

You are a girly girl already!  You love to brush your hair - you will get into the dog's cabinet and pull out the brushes to brush you hair.  Sorry, I am sure that will gross you out.  You also carry buckets and toys around on your arms like a purse.

And, you love to dance.  It's really the cutest!  We have to say that you "drop it like it's hot."

You love to be outside and really enjoy time in your stroller.  You also love to eat grass...what's up with that?

You are such a joy!  You add something to our family that we didn't know we were missing!  Thanks for keeping us laughing, keeping us on our toes, and rounding us out.  This has been the best year of my life. You and your brother make me happier than I knew I could be.  You are perfect and beautiful and smart and I am more than honored to be your mama.

All my love,
Your Mama

Eckarts 2011

Adapt provided a trip to Eckart's for us again this year. They are so kind to provide passes to get in, then we all meet at dark for a bonfire and haunted hayride. I use "we" loosely...as those of "us" with a preschooler and baby didn't make it to dark.  We went for an early trip, saw the sights, jumped the jumps, slid the slides, fed the critters, and ate the snacks.  All in all, a great day.  Too bad we missed all my co-workers! Maybe when our kids are older and bedtime isn't so very important to (all of our) survival!
